Hi Jerell,

I am so happy to see the personal approach and actual networking with other twitters that you are showing here. I know busy schedules do dictate that we use productivity tools to save time.

Personally, I use Tweetlater, which helps me stay organized and plan ahead for tweets. But I do know there appears to be a trend with many twitter members of simply accumulating a high number of followers, then placing their entire twitter process on auto pilot. Other than to make constant pitches for their products and services, which is probably automated as well, there is very little genuine interaction with their followers.

These type of twitter members to me, tend to diminish the value of social networking and its purpose.

Ditto..ditto when you say, let's be more concerned with quality rather than quantity of followers, and being our authentic selves.

Nice post and I found the bio figures an interesting topic to discuss.

Have Many Blessed Days Ahead!

Hi Jerell,

Nice to see this post in response to the one about 1,000 recruiters. It would be great if you post a link to this in a reply to that post on the Boolean Strings.

Interestingly, you get different results on Google if you vary the number of asterisks in your string.

Cheers,
Irina

1. Why are you on Twitter

I am on Twitter for many different reasons. I initially joined to see what all the buzz was about, and within days, I have to admit, I found myself addicted.
I now use Twitter as a way to gain and share knowledge as well as post thoughts, questions and quotes. I love the way its interactive without having so many features, it's confusing.
I also seem to learn something new everyday on Twitter, and there is always something interesting to learn in others' Tweets.

2. How are you building relationships and networking

I started off building relationships and networking by simply Tweeting. Posting small thoughts and questions that would give a little insight on my personality. Every form of following I've done has been by hand, whether or not an app/program was used to find those followers. I try to follow those who have similar interests, or share the same thoughts and/or beliefs as I do.

3. Any suggestions you have to others from your experience on Twitter or Facebook .

I suggest that you take both sites on your own little test drives. Try them out and see if you like them, figure out how'd you'd use them, and do so. I've learned lots of things I probably wouldn't have if I didn't join Twitter, heard songs that were Tweeted I wouldn't have otherwise heard, and many other things. Twitter can be used many different ways, and that's why I choose to use it.

It's not JUST a matter of representing yourself, either. When you're one star in a sea of stars, whether or not your avatar stands out plays a factor in whether or not your tweet is even read.

Especially when you're talking a trending topics feed. Go have a look and see what I mean. When presented with a hundred tweets on one subject, which ones draw YOUR eye?
