Top 10 Social Media Graders for Twitter

January 12th, 2009 by Jerell | 9 Comments | Filed in Grade, Social Networking, Twitter

Social Media Graders are a fun new aspect to the Internet.  Basically they let you see your relative social media performance against others.  They are fun, informative, and a great application if you monitor grades, performance or simply into the analysis of social networks.  Here I took a look at the top 10 Social Media Graders for Twitter, and put them in one easy place for you to review.

Then tell me which do you use?  Which ones are your favorites and why?

1. tweetstats.com

TweetStats lets you graph your twitter stats based on hour/month/timeline and a few others.  The best part of the site is the ability to see your ‘Tweet Cloud’ and trending the current Twitter trend cloud.

2. twinfluence.com

According to Guy Hagen of the twinfluence.com website “twInfluence is a simple tool using the Twitter API to to measure the combined influence of twitterers and their followers, with a few social network statistics thrown in as bonus.” Basically it lets you look at your Reach, Velocity, and Social Capital as they define it, and they have done a great job defining all their terms and processes.

3. twitemperature.com

How can you tell if you are you hot or cold cased on the topic of the day?  Go to Twitemperature and it will tell you.  Unlike other graders Twitemperature doesn’t look at who you follow, your followers or even the number of your tweets.  It simply looks at what actually tweeting about verse what everyone else is tweeting about relevant to current in current hot conversations.

4.  twittercounter.com

TwitterCounter is one of my two favorite of all the social media graders.  Why?  I simply like their stats and graphs, and how you can compare different accounts.  One interesting aspect of the site is that for $199 per week, a person can become a ‘Become a featured user!’ to help drive traffic to their Twitter account.

5. twitter.grader.com

Unlike other sites, twitter.grader.com uses their own method to calculate a reach and authority score, or as they

like to say:

It is calculated as a percentile score. A grade of means that @ scores higher than percent of the users that have been graded.

The number of followers you have

The power of this network of followers

The pace of your updates

The completeness of your profile

…a few others

I do like how it shows the website of the user being reviewed, suggestions on other Twitters to follow for free, and how it shows a Tweet Cloud.

6. twitterholic.com

My other favorite site is Twitterholic because of the ease in which I can look at the top 1,000 Twitters based purely on their Followers. Though it does also give options to sort by Friends, Updates, and the date a person joined, and also breaks down the groups to 100 person blocks for easy reading.  It also has good links back to a persons Twitter page, and their website of record.

8. twitterank.com

Many folks may remember this site from an a password stealing scare that happened back in November 2008, because according to Adam Ostrow on Mashable “Twitter users began seeing Tweets pop up in their timeline that they thought they didn’t make themselves”.

9. Tweetwheel.com

Augusto Becciu created this fun application.  Though the larger your network, the longer it takes to load.  It is fun to see how your network looks like in this graphical form, and see who is connected to who.
